SpotCue reminds you about something at the place where it actually matters — when you arrive at the hardware store, leave the office, or drive near the pharmacy. These are the questions that come up most.
A place-based reminder has to work when the app is closed. “Always” permission lets iOS watch a small number of geofences — invisible circles around the places you picked — and wake SpotCue when you cross one.
SpotCue asks for “While Using the App” first, and only requests “Always” afterwards. It does not track you continuously and keeps no record of where you have been.
You can search for places, create reminders, and see what is nearby while the app is open. Reminders will not fire in the background until you allow “Always”.
Change it in iOS Settings → SpotCue → Location.

iOS also limits how many places any app can monitor at once. SpotCue prioritises the nearest and most urgent reminders and re-syncs as you move, so a very large number of active reminders can mean a distant one is not being watched right now.
A specific address, a place you saved, a named business, or an entire chain or category — “any pharmacy” will match whichever one you actually pass.
Yes. Each reminder can trigger on arriving, on leaving, or on simply being nearby.
Yes. Attach several items to a single stop, so “milk, bread, and coffee” is one reminder with a checklist rather than three separate alerts. Tick items off as you go; the reminder completes when the last one is done.
Yes. Use the dictation option when creating a reminder. The microphone is only active while you are dictating, and no audio is stored.
A SpotRun groups several errands into one trip. Instead of six unrelated alerts, SpotCue keeps track of which stop is next and surfaces it as you complete each one.
Create the reminders you want to run, then group them into a SpotRun and set the stop order. SpotCue shows the next stop and can estimate travel between them.
Check iOS Settings → SpotCue → Notifications and make sure alerts are allowed. Also check that a Focus mode or Scheduled Summary is not holding them back.
SpotCue only sends notifications for reminders you created. It has no way to send you marketing messages — the app does not register for remote push at all.
Yes. The notification itself offers actions such as marking it done, snoozing it, or opening directions.
SpotCue requires a subscription. Monthly is $6.99. Yearly is $49.99 and includes a 3-day free trial. Prices in other countries are set by Apple's regional pricing.
The 3-day free trial applies to the yearly plan. You are not charged until the trial ends. Cancel any time before then and you pay nothing.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled through Apple:
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Tap Restore Purchases on the SpotCue paywall. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase — a different Apple Account will not find the receipt.
If it still does not appear, check your connection and try once more; entitlement is verified against Apple and needs to reach the network.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by SpotCue. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase.
You can sign in with Apple, sign in with Google, or use an email magic link. Use the same method each time — signing in a different way creates a separate account, and your reminders will not follow you across them.
Check your spam folder, confirm the address was typed correctly, and request a new link. Links expire, so use the most recent one.
Sign in with the same method you used originally. Reminders and saved places are tied to the account, so signing in restores them.
In SpotCue, go to Settings → Delete account and data.
This permanently removes your account and everything attached to it — reminders, saved places, SpotRuns, trigger history, settings, and your profile. It cannot be undone.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, because Apple handles billing. Cancel separately using the steps above.
SpotCue does not yet publish a support email address. One will be added here when SpotCue's website launches. In the meantime, the answers above cover the issues we see most, and account deletion is available directly in the app under Settings → Delete account and data.
